Apple's next MacBook Air could be thinner, lighter and have just one plug?

Unnamed2

Apple is reportedly working on a major redesign of the MacBook Air.
The unconfirmed report states that Apple plans to redesign the MacBook Air into a 12-inch device that will be narrower than the current 11-inch MacBook Air but taller to accommodate a larger screen.
It adds that the new MacBook Air would have a slimmer bezel surrounding the screen and keyboard, and would also be thinner and lighter. The report, from 9to5Mac's Mark Gurman, a journalist with a healthy track record in Apple-related leaks and scoops, cites "sources within Apple" who have used internal prototypes of the computer.
The report continues that to achieve a smaller size, Apple might be jettisoning the MagSafe connector, removing the SD card slot and getting rid of full-size USB ports. The screen would be higher resolution, which is a feature Mac owners have wanted from the MacBook Air for quite some time.
9to5Mac commissioned some mock-ups of the purported device (remember, these are just mock-ups, not leaked images or actual product renders.)
